Questions and answers

Frequently asked questions

What does it cost to have you assess our data?

Nothing. There are no upfront fees. We only get paid when a deal goes through.

Which companies can sell data through you?

Companies in Europe that have data they own or have the right to license, regardless of industry and size. What matters is what rights you hold and what the data contains, not how big the company is.

What type of data is interesting to AI companies?

Both operational data such as email archives, Slack and Teams, documents, CRM history, support tickets and call recordings, and content archives such as published texts, books, images, video, audio and source code. Material in Nordic and other smaller European languages is especially in demand.

What happens to personal data in the data?

We assess the personal data before any deal is on the table and plan how it will be removed or de-identified. Data without personal data is prioritized, and we don't accept health data at all.

How do we know we have the right to license the data?

That is part of our assessment. We go through copyright, agreements with customers and suppliers, and platform terms. Sometimes your own legal review is needed before we can proceed.

How does payment work?

We take a share of the deal when it goes through. You receive your payment after delivery, according to the terms of the agreement you have approved.

How long does it take?

You get an initial answer within 48 hours on business days. The time to a completed deal depends on the type of data, the volume and how much de-identification is needed.

What is the buyer allowed to do with the data?

What the license says and nothing more. By default the license is non-exclusive and limited in scope, time and use, for example training a certain type of model. Ownership stays with you.

Can we turn down an offer?

Yes, at any time before you have approved an agreement. It costs nothing and you have no obligations.

Does the data leave our systems before we've decided?

No. The form only asks for a description. No data is shared until a non-disclosure agreement is in place and you have approved an offer.

How does de-identification work?

We draw up a plan for each dataset, for example removing names, contact details and other identifying information. You approve the plan before it is carried out. De-identified data can still be covered by GDPR, so each case is assessed individually.

Who are the buyers?

AI companies in Europe and globally that train language models and AI agents. You find out who the buyer is before you approve a deal.

Can a company that is being wound down, or has already closed, sell its data?

Often yes, as long as someone has the right to represent the company and dispose of the data. Data can be an asset in a wind-down, but personal data and agreements must be handled as carefully as ever.

Is your assessment legal advice?

No. We assess whether the data is suitable for licensing, but that does not replace legal advice. If in doubt, we recommend getting help from your own lawyer.
